Women’s bodies can undergo remarkable transformations over the course of a lifetime. Whether it is pregnancy and post-partum recovery, trauma or illness-induced change, or the minefield that can be menopause, it can be quite the rollercoaster. 

And yet, in my experience and seeing friends and family weather some of the harshest of storms, I see threads that bind us together. I see strength, grit and perseverance to work with the changes we experience. I see solidarity and camaraderie, to cheer one another on. And I see the need for clothing that gives us confidence, that meets us where we are, that serves us and shapeshifts for us. 

But where is that clothing that we need?

For too long, women have been forced to constantly refresh their wardrobes, discarding pieces that no longer fit or flatter their changing forms. This cycle of consumption is costly, both financially and environmentally. And as ages and stages of life mean we make different demands of our clothing, it’s just a cycle that has continued, as we didn’t have alternatives. 

So, I founded The Female Archetypes, with a revolutionary approach to clothing, that's redefining what it means to cater for the female body. Our pieces recognise that a woman's wardrobe should be as dynamic and resilient as she is. By creating a line of "shapeshifting" clothing, The Female Archetypes is providing women with pieces that can evolve with us, whether that is a daily or monthly fluctuation or longer-term seasons of change. 

After the birth of my first baby and when my post-natal depression was at its most fierce, the absence of anything in my wardrobe to fit and flatter my bruised body was hard. I wanted my clothes to help me feel “normal”, to help build my confidence, but I couldn’t find anything that hit the mark. 

And so The Female Archetypes was born, to empower women with pieces that embrace the changing body, with sustainable style. 

Our signature panelling, poppers and tailoring allow for the pieces to respond to their wearer, meeting her where she’s at, tending to the needs of the body, in ways that have never been seen before.

We are on a mission to empower women to face the different seasons of life with confidence and in style, with a collection of pieces that shapeshift for us. The industry might still be subliminally demanding that women conform to rigid standards, but we are here with a fresh perspective, a new voice, and some beautiful pieces of clothing.
