The Female Archetypes is dedicated to moving beyond fast fashion, which often contributes to environmental degradation. By focusing on limited, high-quality runs and timeless designs, the brand aims to reduce waste and encourage sustainable consumption habits. This approach is about creating enduring pieces that offer both style and durability.
All our pieces are made ethically in the heart of the garment district in London. All the artisans that work on the collection receive a fair living wage, have regular breaks and reasonable working hours. The facility is spacious and clean. Our founder Alice visits the factory once a week to meet with the owner and develop new products. Fabrics are made of natural fibres and are sourced from deadstock (where the fabric is already in existence and would otherwise go to waste) or made to order. Our products are made from the highest quality durable fabrics sourced from Italy and Japan. So when you buy from The Female Archetypes you know that the pieces are made to last.
The Female Archetypes was born out of Alice’s personal experience navigating the changes in her body after motherhood. With 15 years of experience in the fashion industry, Alice had always curated her wardrobe with care. After the birth of two children, she found herself struggling to find clothes that fit her postpartum shape. Frustrated with the lack of options that catered to her new body, Alice realised that women’s bodies are constantly evolving - not just after childbirth, but throughout life.
Determined to create a solution, Alice founded The Female Archetypes, a brand dedicated to designing clothing that meets women where they are, without requiring them to change. Her vision is to empower women both in body and mind, offering adjustable, high-quality garments that eliminate the need for multiple sizes and save both budget and landfill space. With thoughtful designs that address real-life challenges—like incorporating elements for hot flashes in her pieces - The Female Archetypes is a true reflection of her commitment to supporting women through every stage of life.
