With the launch of our new collection, we can finally say farewell to the days of squeezing into clothes that no longer reflect our powerful but changing bodies. And this is because at The Female Archetypes, we believe that women deserve pieces that celebrate them, serve them and shapeshift to them. 

And this is our promise, to honour the bodies we have, the bodies we will have, with pieces that shapeshift to you, sustainably and with style. 

Our story began not with a fashion trend, but with the realisation that the fashion industry was not serving women as authentically and as completely as it claimed to do. After the birth of my first baby, post-natal depression took hold fiercely, and I was faced with a body that both amazed and alienated me and one I had no idea how to clothe. 

The brand that was born has journeyed with me as I have journeyed through the first few years of motherhood. And I have realised that one of the most important elements of The Female Archetypes is that it is not about forcing a body into a particular mould. It’s about providing versatile yet incredibly stylish pieces that can rise to meet the challenges of daily life, whilst empowering with the confidence that comes with knowing your clothes fit and flatter your body. 

Our pieces are meticulously crafted. They are rich with hidden design features, flexibility and versatility, to allow them to shapeshift to you, whether it’s changes resulting from post-partum, peri-menopausal or menstrual cycles. Our pieces will accommodate and flatter each woman’s body. 

And our new collection draws on the power that can come from a capsule wardrobe, with our core four pieces:

• The Blazer
• This double breasted blazer has been designed to evolve to suit your needs through a panel system on the side seams; the blazer side seams can be worn closed or you can select and zip in one of three panels to suit your needs. Dropped underarms and eyelets ensure breathability when you need it most.

• The Overshirt
• This overshirt is designed to evolve to suit your needs through a panel system on the side seams. Depending on the size you feel you need on the day, you can select and insert one of three panels to suit your needs.

•  The Trench Coat
• A true wardrobe staple, our Trench Coat is designed for all seasons and all stages of life. Depending on the size you feel you need on the day, you can select and insert one of three panels on the side seams to suit your needs.

• The Jean
• Born from the founder’s personal journey to find jeans that fit her postpartum body, our Jeans are designed with both comfort and style in mind. The concealed adjustment means the jeans can change from a UK 8-12 (size 1) and a UK 14-18 (size 2).

We believe in mindful consumption and high-quality pieces that stand the test of time. That’s why we focus on limited-edition production runs with timeless designs. We want to reduce waste and encourage women to invest in pieces they’ll love for years.
